POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Enrolled in community college or four-year university pursuing an undergraduate degree Must be enrolled full-time GPA: 2.5 or higher MSE graduate or alumni (completed the high school at MSE) Experience working in education setting preferred but not required KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists with planning, preparing, and implementing lesson plans in line with school’s curriculum structure and in adherence to state curriculum standards Works alongside experienced teacher (or after school instructor) assisting in the delivery of teaching, learning, and assessment. Provide in-class support to specific learners to reinforce learning methods and to provide motivation and encouragement to improve academic achievement ? Provide leadership and support to after school curriculum including leadership of sports clubs and academic societies ? Support school staff and administrators with the development and implementation of policies and procedures ? Assist with other assistant teaching duties as necessary Salary ? $17 per hour
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: ? Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the district; ? Must be patient and willing to help students from diverse social, racial, and ethnic backgrounds; ? Ability to use computer including software, database used by the district, spreadsheet and word processing software, calculator, copy machine and telephone. ? Must be flexible and willing to support school staff with other matters as needed.
